About Me
I’m a product management executive who has spent my career crafting, launching, and scaling platforms and products. I have experience creating publishing systems, mobile apps, social games, consumer sites, semantic tools, and media platforms. I thrive in collaborative environments and am passionate about building products that delight users, where embracing the elegance of simplicity drives innovation and usability.
I am currently the VP of Product for SpinMedia, the world’s largest collective of pop culture and music digital brands, which includes SPIN, Vibe, Stereogum, Celebuzz, Buzznet, The Frisky, Idolator, and more. In this role, I lead the team of product managers and UI/UX designers responsible for all music and celebrity sites that collectively reach 40MM unique visitors a month. I also oversee the development and architecture of new content management publishing platform to power all sites in our portfolio. In addition, I manage a cross-functional “Labs” team that incubates new properties.
Before taking this position, I was the Director of Music Product for SPIN, where I was responsible for property’s digital initiatives, including the site, apps, mobile, and more.
Previously I was the Senior Product Manager on the Digital Entertainment and Games team for the BBC Worldwide. While the title may be a mouthful, in essence my job was to help develop engaging games and social experiences for the stable of BBC brands and content.
Prior to that I worked in product management for a startup called Gravity that is working to personalize internet experiences by using semantic technology to create new ways to understand people and what they’re interested in.
Before that, I was the product lead for MySpace’s Data Availability project. I joined MySpace in June 2008 to help create an open platform that gives developers access to the MySpace social layer.
Previous to MySpace I was at Yahoo!, initially with the Games team working on community tools for developers and players, and then later became a member the Yahoo! Open Strategy initiative where I worked on their application platform and OpenSocial implementation.
I began my career at Helio, where I was the manager of New Service Planning. My job was to explore new product development opportunities, which included overseeing strategic explorations in mobile payment solutions via NFC and location-based social products.
I hold a BA in Psychology from Yale University.
